Nov. 11, 1977 - Sir Hugh Fraser Charged with companies act offiences : sir Hugh Frasers, chief of the House of Fraser stores group, which owns Harrods, and five other men more charge in Glasgow yesterday with Companies acts offenees concerning the 2 million newspaper and distillery group, secitich and universal incitements. The charges alleged that the six, as Suits directors, failed to give a true and fair view of the company's affairs in the 1975 accounts in relation to a 3 million lean. It was alleged that Sir Hugh and three others failed to inform the company of their dealings in its shares. The charges follow a stock exchange investigation which severely ariticised sir Hugh, 10, over the company accounts and his own share deals.
