He is Mr. Michael Edwards, 47-year old head of the Chlorde car battery empire. He will take up his new job on November 1st. His appointment comes within a few days of Leyland's previous part-time Chairman Sir Richard Dobson, who resigned after a speech at a private dinner during which he made a remark about woge.
