Aug. 24, 1979 - August 24th 1979 British businessman Rolf Schild and family go missing while on holiday in Sardinia The Italian government sent a top detective to Sardinia over the disappearance of the British businessman Rolf Schild, 55, his wife Daphne, 48 and his 15-year-old daughter Annabelle, while on holiday thue. They have been missing from their holiday villa at Palau on the Island's north east coast since early Tuesday morning. They left the hoM of American executive William McClure after a dinner party to drive the five minute journey home, hut they never arrived, and their Vauxhall car is also missing. It is feared that the family may have been taken by Bandits.
