Sep. 09, 1979 - Rolf Schild Arrives in London to Raise 1 Million Ransom for His Wife and Daughter. British Businessmen Mr. Rolf Schild, 55, flew into Gatwick Airport last night after pledging to sell everything he owned to secure the release of his wife and daughter, held in intolerable conditions by Sardinian kidnappers who have demanded 1 million ransom. Mr. Schild, an electronic engineer, his wife Daphnee, 51, and daughter Annabel, 15, were kidnapped outside their holiday villa at Punta Sardegna, near Palau on august 21.
