The Button Queen, shop in Marlborough Court, London

Oct. 10, 1965 - The Button Queen: Buttons, those vital parts of one's clothing, are rapidly taking their place along side stamps and coins as valuable collector's items. They are also helping the export drive 80 per cent of all antique buttons sold in Britain go to America, where button collection is second only to philately. In London, MRS. Toni Frith, whose 14-year association with buttons has earned the name The Button Queen, has graduated from a stall in the famous Portobello Road, to a comfortable shop in Marlborough Court off Carnaby-street, Westminster. Photo shows Mrs. Toni Frith at her button shop in Marlborough Court, London
