Dec. 07, 1972 - December 7th 1972 Wife of the President of the Philippines is stabbed Mrs. Imelda Marcos, wife of Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos was stabbed in the abdomen during a televised public ceremony. The attack took place in an amusement park as Mrs. Marcos, aged 42, was awarding prizes to winners of a beautification and cleanliness campaign. She had just shaken hands with several people when the man wearing a dark suit, awaiting his turn in line, suddenly pulled out a knife from his left belt and charged at her. Mrs. Marcos fell to the ground and the man appeared to fling himself on her. Guards pulled him off and shot him dead. She was later rushed to hospital.
