Dec. 12, 1972 - Wife of the president of the Philippines is stabbed : Mrs. Imelda Marcos, wife of Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos, was stabbed in the abdomen during a televised public ceremony the attack too place in an amusement park as Mrs. Marcos, aged 42, was awarding prizes to winners f a beautification and cleanliness campaign. she had just shaken hands with several people when the man wearing a dark suit, awaiting his turn in line, suddenly pulled out a knife from his belt and charged at her, Mrs. Marcos fell to the ground and the man appeared to fling himself on her.
