Oct. 10, 1969 - Vietnam Ambassador Bids For Picture Being Sold In Aid Of Kontum Mission: The Vietnamese Ambassador, H.E. Le Ngoc Chan, today visited the Tryon Gallery, Dover Street, London, to make a bid for a painting that is being sold by its artist in aid of the Kontum Mission in South Vietnam, and to thank the artist - Miss Sarah Ponsonby- for her generosity. The painting, entitled The Late, Great Bertram Mills Liberty Horses, is one of the works that Miss Sarah Ponsonby, a young artist who specialises in painting horses, is currently showing at an exhibition of Sporting paintings which she is sharing with two other young women artists. The exhibitin closes on Wednesday (Oct 22) The diocese of Kontum is the largest in South Vietnam and has 72 parishes. It is responsible for the administration of schools, a leprosarium, an orphanage, a dispensary and hospital, as well as convents, seminaries and a catechist training school.
