Camera scaffolding in Trafalgar Square, London
Jul. 07, 1960 - Television traffic control for Royal Drive: For the arrival in London today of the King and Queen of Thailand, police used a closed circuit television system for crowd and traffic observation in the Trafalgar Square area. Two cameras were mounted on a tower sited on the King Charles I statue island on the south side of the square. Both cameras were remotely controlled from a police vehicle stationed at the base of the tower. Photo shows view showing the tower on which the two cameras are placed and below, the control vehicle in Trafalgar Square today
