Canada
Jul. 29, 1942 - War Formula - the tough, be killers; Canada- Canada's battle drill school, located on the West Coast, is succeeding in its attempt to turn out better fighters and killers than it has in the past. This is due to the efforts in Lieut. Colonel J.F. Scott, school commander, who made a special trip to England where battle training first appeared. He and his aides synchronize the mind and muscle of the Canadian soldier to the utmost efficiency, producing a fighter prepared to meet the enemy with a greater ruthlessness and a superior attitude. Training is realistic. A recruit is taught to capture a position, to go on and to seek out and destroy the enemy. He learns to attack and to move with the controlled speed of a boxer. He practice night assaults smearing his face with lamp black so as not to be seen in the dark. Photo Shows Battle Drill men, their faces smeared, about to attack a position
