Cannons for opening of Northern Ireland Parliament
Mar. 03, 1959 - Parliament opens with a Bang: Northern Ireland's Parliament in colour and tradition in many respects follows that of the Mother of Parliaments at Westminster, London. Lord Wakehurst, the Governor of Northern Ireland, recently presromed a State Opening as thre representative of Queen Elizabeth, driving in state to Government Buildings and, seated as does the monarch, making the Speech from the Throne.
