Mar. 03, 1959 - Parliament opens with a Bang: Northern Ireland's Parliament in colour and tradition in many respects follows that of the Mother of Parliaments at Westminster, London. Lord Wakehurst, the Governor of Northern Ireland, recently presromed a State Opening as thre representative of Queen Elizabeth, driving in state to Government Buildings and, seated as does the monarch, making the Speech from the Throne. Photo shows Gunsmoke floats before Government Buildings, Stormont, as a 19-gun salute is fired at teh end of Governor's speech
