View of a model of the eight storey garage to be built at the site of the old Empire Theatre at Woolwich, SE London, pictured at today's Press preview of the Car Parking Exhibition at the Institute of Civil Engineers. The garage will be the first of two on the site, and will be fully automatic. It will provide 256 car spaces, each costing 400, exclusive of land. (the ground floor will not be used for parking). The cars will be attendant parked, by mechanical lift, at a rate of intake and discharge of one per 50 seconds. Parking charges per day (12 hours) will be 2s. 6d: hourly rates and are not yet fixed
