Jan. 01, 1954 - The Comets Have Their Detailed Strip-Down Investigating The Cause Of Disaster: Work began yesterday on stripping down the De Havilland Comet aircraft-which have been withdrawn from service by B.O.A.C.-following the week-end disaster in which 35 people lost their lives when one of the planes crashed into the Mediterranean. the investigation is to be in complete detail-in an effort to find any load to the cause of the few disasters to his type of machine. photo shows.
