Oct. 10, 1956 - New British Lightweight Economy Car. The Unicar On Show: The Unicar - the newest British lightweight economy four wheel car - made by S.E. Opprman of Boreham Wood - was to be seen for the first time today. The car is priced at39.. 10. o. inclusive of purchase tax. It has a fibreglass body - and is fitted with independent suspension. The makers claim a maximum speed of 60 m.p.h at 55 m.p, g. from its 322 c.c. British Anani aircooled twin cylinder two stroke engine. The car seats two adults and two children with comfot - is 9 ft. 6 in long and 4 ft. 8 in wide. and is designed by Laurence Bond of the Bond Minicar fame.
