Feb. 02, 1959 - Lambretta Covers 42 Miles in 143 minutes on the New Motorway. Brian Gibbs, works rider for Lambretta, took a spare part to the Birmingham end of the new motorway opened today - The M.1 - from Luton Spur, where the opening took place - and returned after refuelling to the St. Albans end of the M1.
