The vehicles, which are officially designated as derelict it is often impossible to trace the owner.At Highbury in North London, one police officer has a full time job trying to trace the ownership of a number of abandoned vehicles.Many of the old cars are nothing more than the shell - all pieces removable having been removed - they being considered to be fair game for spare-part pirates.
