Aug. 08, 1958 - Tattersalls Tavern Opened in London.. Red Rover Coach Arrives. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders Watney in a Red Rover Stage Coach - with other guests - travelled to the new Tattersalls Tavern which has been built in Raphael Street at the junction of Knightsbridge Green - for the purpose of opening to Tavern - and hoisting a traditional ale garland.. The new tavern takes the place of The Pakenham which was a resort for Tattersalls customers before 1939.. It has been renamed to commemorate the passing of the famous auction room alongside.. Keystone Photo Shows: The Red Rover Coach arrives at the tavern for the opening ceremony this morning
