Feb. 26 The New Humber Sceptre A new Humber Sceptre with distinctive international styling, an excellent all around performance and a new degree of interior luxury is introduced by Rootes for 1968. A new twin carburettor 94 b.h.p. version of the Rootes 1725 c.c. engine gives the Sceptre acceleration of the order of zero to 60 m.p.h. in just over 12 seconds. Top speed capability is up to 97 m.p.h. and new techniques of insulation against noise and vibration makes Sceptre motoring relaxing the highest permissible cruising speeds.
