Feb. 26 ALMWICK:During a long vacation in Britain, three Minneapolis nurses were hitch-hiking their way to Edinburgh for the Festival when, in this old Northumberland town they ran into the Anglo-American Vintage Car Rally. As they were admiring Alnwick's medieval fortress, they were astonished to see an American steam car, the Stanley Steamer, come chugging up the hill to the great entrance gates to the castle. Photo shows, the Minneapolis girls are (left to right) Eva Johnson, of 1875 Oak Street, M.E. Minn. 21; Shirley Ostento of 3340 Stevens Avenue; and Peg Finnemann of 5256 28th Avenue South. They are with Paul J. Tusek of Power Point, Ohio, the driver of the 1906 Stanley Steamer. This is the only steam car in the American team of ten vintage cars of the duster and goggles age which are competing against ten of Britain's ancestral cars in an 800-mile tour through Britain. The three Minneapolis girls are nurses at Minneapolis General Hospital
