Car Parts - Engines - Tire - Transportation - Vehicles

Feb. 26 This semihovercraft is cheaper to build and run then a conventional AVC, and makes no ungulfing spray from blow-by except at the stern, where it is left behind. Devised in Sweden, this experimental one seater can dol8 knots with a 10 bhp engine driving both air propeller and lift fan. There are three keels enclosing the sides of the two section air cusion pressurized by the fan. At the rear the cusion is contained by an adjustable trim-flap, while ran air under forward travel minimize leakage in front. Hover-height is controlled by moving trim flap, which can be fully retracted to release the cushion for fast braking. The little prototype as forerunner of a five-seater speedboat now on the drawing board, and of larger military craft for use on ice and soft ground as well as water
