Nov. 11, 1958 - Launching Of The Scoo-Ped Fiber-Covered Bike Of Thew Future': The Scoo-Ped, a revolutionary type of bicycle designed on the lines of a scooter and which has a re-enforced fiberglass body - was launched today by Britain's largest independent cycle manufacturer, the Elswick - Hopper and Motor Co, Ltd. of Barton-on-Humbert, Linc's. The Launching ceremony was performed outside the Savoy Hotel today by Lady Lewisham, who broke a bottle of champagne over the machine and formally named it.
