Mar. 22 Latest in eye catchers finds Ernie Bishop of Livermore (California), speeding around town in his own version of this surrey with a fringe on top. Bishop, a laboratory employee at America's Sandia Corporation, devised the roof because the original canvas top was in shreads. His car - a 1960 Austin Sprite - h as 78, 000 miles on it, and with the new wooden shingle roof is said to the starting a new lease on life.
