Mar. 27 Walking Truck Moves Forward: This is a model of a four-legged walking truck that has potential applications as a cargo and troop carrier, portable mount for artillery, and ship-to-shore shuttle, a quarter six-foot legs, the vehicle will be able to transport to wheeled or tracked vehicles at speeds up to five miles per hours. By manipulating controls attached to his arms, legs, and torso, the operator will be able to maneuver the machine in any direction. A research prototype of the giant truck - ten feet tall, ten feet long, and four feet wide - is being built by the General Electric Research and Development Centre in Schenectady, New York. The completed vehicle is to make its debut later this year
