Apr. 18 Lorry-Blockade At The Borders To Austria: Now as before the borders from and to Austria are blocked. Although there came off a compromise between the Austrian Government, the Federal Economic Chamber and the Transport Trade, in the reality the situation became not better (in contrary, in Austria itself it was intensified). Numberless lorries are furthermore blocking the approach roads to the different frontier-crossings to Austria and the drivers are not willing to clear the ways of their brummies'. As known, the lorry-drivers are protesting by this against a new law, put into force on July 1st, 1978, which charges a special tax for lorries going through Austria.
