1960 - Off On Commemoration Run: Mr. St. John C. Nixon, of Epsom, driving an 1899 Wolesey car, set off this morning from the Royal Automobile Club, London, on his commemoration run of the 1000 mile Trial of 1900, in which he took part at the age of 14, He is now 74. The 1900 trial was held to prove that cars were capable of covering long distances and of mounting steep hills'. Photo shows. Mr. St John Nixon, at the wheel of the 1899 Wolesey, with Mr. Arthur Ayscough, of the British Motor Corporation at his side, sets off on the commemoration run today
