Jan. 25, 1962 - Featuring sporty interiors and spirited performance, a new model has been added to Ford's intermediate size Fairlane series. Designated the Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe, the car offers a new and more powerful 260 cubic inch V-8 engine along with a luxuriously appointed, bucket seat interior. The front bucket seats are similar in construction to those offered in the Thunderbird, and are seperated by a console that contains a convenient personal effects compartment. The Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe is the fifth model to be offered int he Fairlane series. Two and four door models are currently available in both the Fairlane and the Fairlane 500 series
