Feb. 16, 1961 - And Still The Old Crocks Pile Up. Ten Year Test - Brings In The Relics: Car breakers yards throughout the country are busier now than at any time before - mainly because of the Ministry of Transport Ten Year Test - which requires cars of ten years of age - or more -to be tested to a set standard for breakers - steering and lighting. Owners of many old crocks are now even entering their vehicles for the test - but are just sending them for scrap. Some of the breakers yards are having to refuse any more - even free - because they are so full-up. Photo shows A grab deals with one of the relics -as it hangs above the huge mass of broken up old crocks - at the Waltham Cross Breakers Yard today
