Mar. 03, 1961 - Swimming car makes maiden trip.: A maiden trip in which water sport fans were just as interested as motor sport fans, took place on the Tegeler (tegeler) lake in Berlin on March 7th, 1961. The German-American Amphicar (Amphicar) was tried here and passed. The vehicle reaches speed of 110km/h on her road and 14km/h in the water. It will cost about 3, 000 dollars, the motor and the gear-box are made in England, the bodywork is produced in Berlin.
