Sep. 09, 1964 - Over and under express ways ready for Tokyo's Olympic traffic; After three years of construction, the network of high and low level expressways leading to the various Olympic stadiums, are now open to traffic in Tokyo. The old narrow reads, many suitable only for rickshaws, have been done away with to clear the path for the super highways. which start from the international airport and stretch right through the city of Tokyo. In their plan to cut from through the heart of Tokyo, the engineers have sunk steel supports into the bed of old canals, which served as outer defense most for the Imperial Palace in the Eds era, when the city was ofter in a state of siege with warning feudal lords of rival slans.
