Car Parts - Engines - Tire - Transportation - Vehicles

Oct. 14, 1960 - The third expression of the classic Thunderbird concept reveals itself in this view of the 1961 Thunderbird hardtop. Details of the Thunderbird were announced today, and the new models will be introduced by Ford dealers in November. The new Thunderbird retains many of the famous features the unique roof, console and rich interiors yet offers greater comfort and convenience than ever before. An exclusive movable steering wheel slides ten inches to the right for easier driver entry and exit. The 1961 Thunderbird is slightly shorter and narrower than the previous model, but has more interior room. Standard features include a new Thunderbird 390 engine, Cruise-O-Matic transmission, power steering and power brakes that adjust themselves. The new Thunderbird will be warranted in writing for 12, 000 miles of one full year
