Dec. 12, 1965 - Bus Taken to police Pound.: A double decker bus yesterday ended up in a police pound. The way London transport told it was that a No. 188 bus arrived at Deverell street, just off New Kent road, London, to pull in to the authorised bus atend, and found the space occupied by private care. Theew of the bus were due to go off duty and, as the relief crew had not turned up they left the bus standing in the roadway with an inspector watching over it. The inspector went to get the police to remove the cars, said London transport. When the police arrived they removed the bus with the cars because, in the words of a police officer to the inspector.'It could have led to an obstruction. The way the police told it was that the bus was completely unattended and was causing an obstruction that meant single line traffic could only be operated an the road which is used by heavy lorris. It was comon ground that the bus ended up in the police car pound at waterloo and London transport had to pay ?2 to get it out again in time for the rush hour.
