Jun. 06, 1963 - Tank AMX 30 introduced to the press: The French version of the European Tank AMX produced by the factories in Issy-Les-Moulineaux, was introduced to-day to the press. This tank is characterized by its armement, mobility and its protection. Its principal weapon is a canon of 105, and an excellent telemeter gives the possibility of a great probability to hit the target untill 2.500 meters. A specific power of 22 HP per ton and a polycarburant motor gives the tank an excellent mobility considerably increased of the tactical point of view by its possibility to cross water, up to 2 m. 20 without any preparation, and up to 4 meters with a Schnorkel'. In addition the tank can move in zones touched by radioactive dust, or by bacteorologic or chemical agents. The tank has also a complete infra-red equipment thus able to move and to fight at night. During its presentation at Mailly-Le-camp (Aube) the AMX 30 Tank crosses water 2, 20 meters deep
