Car Parts - Engines - Tire - Transportation - Vehicles

Sep. 09, 1970 - The Opel Manta....represents a completely new car class within the gales program of the Russelsheim company. Marked by the long engine hood and the chopped rear end, its lines and contours are elegant and sporty. Its comfortable interior provides seating place for five. Much space is also offered by the trunk compartment. The body of the Manta does not only feature such proved Opel safety items as e.g. crushable front and rear ends or the energy absorbing steering column. Opel for the first time has largely adopted findings of its accident research program, unprecedented in Germany, to line production, e.g. the designed, controlled deformation of the crushable front end in the event of a head-on impact and the specially reinforced door pillars and roof struts for interior safety during a side impact
