Jun. 06, 1970 - The First German City Car'.: The first German city car will soon be made in series production. It was constructed by the master car-mechanic Walter Schatzle of Lich/Oberhessen. Chassis and motor (250 ccms. wuth 14 hp and 4000 ccms. with 20 hp have been taken from the former Goggo ( a german mini car). Quite new and sensational however, is the construction of the car. It has an aluminum frame, the chassis consists of sheet steel layered with plastic. The outward shell of the car does not rust and must not be polished. As there do not arise any tool costs, lacquering works nor welded joints, maintenance costs are not high. During the series production, there are built 50 four-seated cars Piccolo type and fifty of the two-seated transporting cars for the first. Production will then increased. Walter Schatzle is presenting the two models of this new car in picture. Up to now there are already 20, 000 order for this new car of 2.90ms. length and a speed of 100 kms/hour
