Aug. 08, 1970 - Safety for children in cars. A new range of child restraint systems for cars called the KL jay jeenay safety systems, manufactured by K.L. Automotive products ltd, was launched today at the council of industrial design. The new child safety systems are designed for the rear seats of saloon and estate cars and are the first complete range of equipment to protect the growing family from birth to early adolescence. photo shows Beverley Anne Softness, aged 9 months - pictured in the KL jeenay carrycet restraint - which prevents a carrycot from sliding around on the back seat of a car or from being thrown forward in sudden braking or swerving.
