Day of Death of Wilhelm Maybach In Heilbronn/West-Germany On This Occasion A Memorial Exhibition Takes Place. 50 years ago, at December 29th 1929, in Stuttgart - Bad Canstatt/West-Germany died the engineer and industrialist Wilhelm Maybach (our picture). As a co-worker of Gottlieb Daimler influenced Maybach the development of the car. Under his leading the first Daimler-motor grew up in 1883. and in 1886 the most successful year for Daimler-Maybach, followed the motor-coach -with it the burst forth on the way to the first real working car was made. 1889 the steel-wheel car with a 2-cylinder-v-motor (cubic capacity 0.6551, efficiency 1.65 HP and 920 rpm) grew up, which was shown first on the World's Fair in Paris/France. After the death of Daimler in the year 1900 Maybach was substantial participated at the development of the Mercedes'-car. 1909 he founded in Friedrichshafen/West-Germany a motor-factory. At the occasion of the 50th day of death of Wilhelm Maybach, one of the most important engineers of his time, the native town of him organize a memorial-exhibition, which is to seen the whole December.
