Carroll Shelby 1923 - 2012 American Auto Legend
CARROLL SHELBY (Jan 11, 1923-May 10, 2012), one of the biggest legends in the car industry and a champion auto racer, who built the infamous Shelby Cobra sports car and helped transform the Ford's Mustang and Chrysler's Viper, has died in a Texas hospital. He was 89. Shelby had homes in Los Angeles and Texas. Shelby was inducted into the Automobile Hall of Fame in 1992. and is best known for his career in the auto industry including a champion race car driver, a racing team owner, an automobile manufacturer and an automotive consultant.
