Castro Visits Mexico
Jul. 07, 1979 - Cozumel Island, Mexico - FIDEL CASTRO of Cuba made an official visit to Cosumel Island, Mexico, where he met the President of Mexico JOSE LOPEZ PORTILLO. This is the first time that Castro has visited Mexico in more than twenty years, after leaving from Tuxpam, Veracruz in November 1958, at the head of 82 man expedition to commence the war for the liberation of Cuba
