May 10, 1957 - Prince Philip presents Designs of the Year Award, wears plaster on chin. - At a ceremony at the Design Centre, Regent Street - this afternoon, H.R.H. Prince Philip presented awards to the manufacturers of the 12 products selected for their outstanding design from some 3, 500 articles showing at the centre during its first year. The products selected for the awards cover a wide range and include a TV receiver, a convector open fire, a carpet, wallpaper, china, oven glass - table galss cutlery and a settee-bed.
