Aug. 08, 1956 - Honeymoon in the Captain's Cabin Lance - Corporal Potkins takes his Bride Aboard: A girl in Army uniform hurried ashore as the aircraft carrier Ocean was about to cast off from Devonport Dockyard last night with more troops for the Mediter. She had just spent the last 12 hours of her honeymoon aboard. It was 47 year old Captain Roper who had brightened the last 12 hours of Lace-Corporal Genest Potkins, and his wife Corporal Olive Potkins, of the M.R.A.C. Honeymoon. He was watching troops embark yesterday when he noticed them in uniform, sitting arm in arm in a tent. He sent for the and gave them permission to occupy his cabin from 8 am until 7pm when the ship sailed. The couple were married at Worthing last Saturday.
