Jul. 25, 1957 - High-water in the Erzgebirge (Mountain of East-Germany). Persistent rains, resembling cloud-burst, have resulted in expansive floods in and around the town of Pirna. Dams of two rail-roads have been washed away and several villages can not be reached because the roads are under water. Endangered houses and holiday-camps for children have been evacuated with the help of the people's police and the fire-lighting brigade, as well as the Soviet-zonal-Army. OPS:- An amphibious vehicle of the Soviet-zonal Army drives through the flooded streets of Pirna
