May 05, 1956 - Family Reunion for the Swans - from Ceylon.. High Court Judge Retires.. There was a real family reunion yesterday at a home in Acton - on the arrival from Ceylon of Mr. The Hon. Vernon St. Clair Swan, former judge of the Ceylon Supreme Court - his wife, their youngest daughter Rosemary (22) and their only son David (18).. The rest of the party included four more of their nine daughters; three sons in law and 14 grandchildren, from Anthony (12) to Christopher (seven weeks). Mr. Swan, the son of a doctor - married his wife Evelyn - also a daughter of a doctor, when he is still a rising barrister in Colombo. Their ten children were born and educated in Ceylon. Two of the daughters married British Servicemen there during the war and came to England - and the younger daughters followed.. now the judge is retired and intends to spend the rest of his days with his family here..
