Dec. 12, 1957 - New Governor of Cyprus walks through streets of Nicosia: Local people were very surprised on Thursday when Sir Hugh Foot the new Governor of Cyprus went for a stroll through the streets of Nicosia chatting to local inhabitants and seeing for himself to damage caused by students and others during the recent riots in the city.
