Dec. 27, 1957 - Former chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff decorated by emperor in Japan - Admiral Rasdford the former chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff was recently presented with Japan's highest decoration - the ward of the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun - by emperor Hirohito of Japan - for his outstanding work in improving US - Japanese relations for defence in Far East. The Radfords arrived in Japan recently on the last leg of their tour of the Far East. Admiral Radford has now retired and is the director of an industrial company
