Oct. 10, 1959 - Father fights ban on high-heeled Wendy.: 14-year-old Wendy Hyde was again barred from school yesterday because she was wearing a tight-fitting grey woollen dress and high-heeled black shoes. Her father took her to Chamberlayne Wood Road School in Kensal Rise, London, yesterday, half an hour after she had been fined ?1 for not sending her to school between September 8 and October 5. After she had been refused admittance to the school by the headmaster, Mr. James Rimmer, who doesn't approve of the way she dresses, her father, Mr. Geoffrey Hyde, a 51-tear-old hospital worker, of Willesden, said that Wendy would continue to wear the same clothes and report to school each day. Sitting at home smoking a cigarette, Wendy said she had been attending a modelling school three times a week where she had been told that flat-heeled shoes would be dettrimental to her feet. Photo shows Mr. James Rimmer, the headmaster, who has refused Wendy admittance to the school
