Jan. 10 Katherina Hilpert - For 50 years A Handmaid: It is a rare anniversary, which 74 year old Katherina Hilpert is celebrating: She has been a handmaid for 50 years on the very same farm. Half a century ago she started working as a young girl at the Huberhof near Starnberg/Upper Bavaria and this is where she stayed. Meanwhile she has outlived three farm - owners, worked very hard and even saved some money from her pay, which used to be DM 25. - plus free food and lodging in the old days. Now, Katherina Hilpert gets a pension (DM 600.-per month) but she is still working on the form, feeding the chickens, milking the cows sometimes and cooking. Until now, she has not been ill so that a doctor was to come, and she hopes that she can go on at least until the 60th anniversary
