Feb. 26 Governors Thomas T. Crittenden who is accused in the recently reissued book, The Life, times, and Treacherous death of Jesse James, of having ordered the murder of Jesse James. The National Notoriety of Jesse James is evidenced in the wide notice given his death. Here is the April 22, 1882 front page of Frank Leslie's Illustrated, a popular newspaper of the time. The Dirty Little Coward Bob Ford who shot and killed Jess James. Body of Jess James at undertaker's. Frank James is second from right. Scene is published in a biography of James recently reissued by Swallow Press in honor of the Outlaw's 123rd birthday
