Feb. 26 Eight day sale opens. Selling up in the home of the late Sir John Wood - at Bury St. Edmunds. A sale - which is expected to last for eight days is in progress at Hengrave Hall, the great Tudor Mension near Bury St. Edmunds, in which Sir John Wood lived before his death last year at the age of 92. This is the biggest sale of its kind in many years. The fine old mansion contains much fine furniture, paintings, and two valuable porcelain collection. They are being sold to be converted into a Convent School. Sir John Wood purchased the Hall in 1897 with half its contents Afterwards he regretted not having bought the lot - and spent 50 years tracing and buying back the rane inder, At his death his ambition was almost fulfilled.
