Feb. 26 Remote Control Mini Spy Plane Built To Beat Radar: A small delta - shaped plane has been developed for military use. The craft, called a Ryan RPV (remotely controlled vehicle) is capable of a number of military functions mainly reconnaissance spy work. Powered by petrol, it weighs only 150 pounds and has a speed of about 120 knots. A major advantage of the RPV is its ability to fly at low altitudes. Since it is so small (7 1/2 feet tip to tip) it is difficult to detect by radar. It is seen here at its testing grounds at San Diego, California
