Feb. 29 Icy roads will lose their dead - should Paul Rathke (PAUL RATHKE) invention become popular. Rathke (of Medenbach near Frankfurt) has developed a concrete blind which can be put together and which reaches 60 cm above the road level. In an eight centimetres deap track in the edge of the road, the car wheels find a secure support as experience taught that the sand that is spayed in winter is always thrown to the side of the road. It will gather in the deep track and give a good support for the wheels. At the time being, Paul Rathke tries to interest the Ministry of Transport for his invention. Keystone Photo, 19-7-60
